Our ode to that disappearing stretch of road that runs through the western part of Mississippi, the land where the blues began and the road that the blues greats have traveled on their way to Memphis and beyond. Deb and I have made the trip from Greenwood to Memphis on numerous occasions. We’ve been to the Robert Johnson burial site, the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale and traveled many a country road out there just soaking up the vibe. Unfortunately, now corporate America dots the landscape with neon signs marking the way to the casinos and a lot of Old 61 has been turned into a major highway or it skirts around the old towns. But we had the chance to ride Highway 61 with Muddy, Howlin’ Wolf, Robert Johnson, R.L. Burnside or Buddy Guy blasting on the stereo.
More resonant and open sounding than our standard 2x12. It has slightly less low end than the current 2x12 but more pronounced midrange definition. Very open and spacious sounding.
